Joan Clos

Joan Clos was United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN-Habitat, the UN agency responsible for promoting sustainable, resilient and prosperous cities. During his tenure, he led the development of the New Urban Agenda and was appointed secretary-general of the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development – Habitat III. Twice elected mayor of Barcelona, he has received several awards and recognitions for his commitment.
