A more urban world seemed to be the main trend of the Planet’s growth. The COVID 19 pandemic has raised options for relocating residences and economic activities in a pendulum swing from the initial globalization that offshored industry decades ago. But to address resilient urban environments that attract talent and economic resources, it is necessary for cities to have management teams and regulations that facilitate the rapid evolution of urban spaces, preserving the identity and traditional space of city dwellers, and making it compatible with the arrival of new generations of populations and economic projects. In this section we will review examples of cities that are successfully undertaking this necessary transformation and others that for various reasons are struggling to adapt to a changing environment.
